ANNULMENTS
An annulment is a civil action that ends a relationship. From a legal standpoint, an annulled marriage declares that the marriage never legally occurred and was never legitimate. Bigamy, forced consent, fraud, mental illness/incapacity, and other factors can lead to annulment.
The annulment process is identical to the divorce process. The party seeking an annulment must contend that the marriage is either invalid or voidable. The plaintiff must set out the case and be given an uncontested court trial date if the suit was uncontested.
