Justin James Zehnder

Director

Justin Zehnder is a dispute resolution lawyer with a strong focus on equity and trust disputes. He also has a broad experience across commercial litigation, construction matters, and shareholder and director conflicts. He has appeared before all levels of the Singapore Courts and regularly acts in complex, high-value disputes involving resulting and constructive trusts, breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duties.

Justin has acted as lead counsel in a wide range of contentious matters, including significant equity and trust claims concerning residential properties, estate-related disputes, defamation actions, and commercial contractual disputes. His experience includes successfully defending and prosecuting claims in both the High Court and District Court, as well as successfully handling appeals before the Appellate Division of the High Court and the Court of Appeal. Several of the matters he has handled have resulted in reported decisions.

He also has substantial experience in interlocutory applications, including summary judgment, striking out, and the inclusion of counterclaims and additional parties, often achieving early and favourable resolutions for clients. In addition, Justin regularly advises on construction disputes and has experience in arbitration proceedings, including matters administered under the Singapore Institute of Architects Arbitration framework.

Prior to realising his calling to dispute resolution, Justin gained valuable experience in corporate finance and equity capital markets, having worked on initial public offerings, fund raisings, mergers and acquisitions, and delistings while at leading Singapore law firms. This transactional background allows him to approach disputes with a strong commercial perspective.

Justin is admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore. He holds an LLB (Honours) from the London School of Economics and completed his Legal Practice Course with Commendation in England. He is fluent in English and conversant in Mandarin.
